Less than two years after losing his job at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment following the studio’s takeover by Walt Disney Co., veteran publicist James Finn has been named head of content marketing at Audible, the audiobook service and online podcasts. property of Amazon.

Finn “will oversee the marketing of our titles, including Audible Originals,” the company announced in a LinkedIn post. “He has decades of experience driving successful campaigns and collaborations with top creators, entertainment and tech companies to shape the future of next-gen storytelling. Finn had spent nearly 20 years at Fox, the last 10 in the studio’s home entertainment division, which he joined in August 2009 to succeed Steve Feldstein as senior vice president of corporate communications and marketing. .

In April 2013, he was promoted to Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Marketing Officer for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and Fox Innovation Lab. Four years later, he took on additional duties as executive vice president and chief marketing officer at FoxNext.

Disney closed its $71.3 billion acquisition of Fox in March 2019 and quickly began trimming staff, including longtime home entertainment president Mike Dunn.

At Fox, Finn was known for his close relationships with the media, his innovative approach to marketing, and his passion for all things high-tech, especially in the areas of virtual reality and augmented reality.

Finn began his career at 20th Century Fox in October 2000 as a publicist in New York. In June 2003, he was named vice president of national advertising for Fox Searchlight Pictures.

Finn holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business.
