EXCLUSIVE: Warner Bros. Pictures EVP Worldwide Digital Marketing Andrew Hotz is returning to Google as their new Director, Platforms, Deadline has learned.
At the studio in Burbank, Calif., Hotz oversaw domestic and international digital teams for Warner Bros. and New Line. He has also worked with marketing managers on the design and deployment of digital campaigns for the studios feature roster. He joined Warners in August 2017.
Google’s core business is based on three pillars: search, video and platforms. Google’s marketing technology platforms serve as the foundation for media buying, creative development, analytics and advertiser measurement. Hotz will lead the department that defines Google’s marketing technology go-to-market strategy. He will help Google’s ad clients connect their brand and performance businesses, tasks Hotz managed and led during his tenure at Warners; linking studio activity to HBO Max activity. Hotz’s new position at Google will be located in Chicago with the entire department spread across the United States. He will report to Courtney Rose.
Before Warners, Hotz was head of industry at Google. There, he managed the relationship between Google/YouTube and NBCUniversal and consulted with the studio and networks on digital marketing efforts, including media strategy, data and measurement platforms, digital creative and partnerships.
Also at Google, Hotz previously managed P&G’s global business and worked on Google’s television advertising business.
He started his production career at DreamWorks Animation.
